Stag - creature rig
Another example of a quadruped rig being developed. This shows the outer layer of controls that are built that enable and animator to take the model and begin animating it as required for the production. Underneath the model is a 'skeleton' system often refered to as rig [also sometimes refered to as bones] These are placed to replicate the articulation of a character or a creature you are creating.
Once the skeleton system is set up - the controls you see here are implimented to help an animator create any intended animation quickly:
these controls are easiliy visbile
intuative to read
fast to use
The animator may find some limitations or breakages in the rig or controllers - a Technical Director [TD] will then examine the rig and make any alterations required and pass this back to the animator.
