Big Cat - creature rig
One of several creature rigs in development. This shows the animation controllers and rigging that goes into making a big CGI cat come alive. This process is critical and paramount in production to ensure the range of motion and the anticipated direction for such a CGI creature is catered for. This is one of the more resource intensive processes in creating CGI creatures [or characters].
However, once this process is completed, for future prodcutions or use, only minimal addtional work is usually required on the animation rig - it can be continually animated and re-used in new scenarios and becomes a highly usable asset for longer form or repeat productions. The benefits of generating CGI rigs for characters are numerous:
allows for emotion and expression in any form
can replicate real world articulation and motion
allows for easier long form or repeat production
makes complex animation an easier task
Check out some of the other rigs that are under development, do get in touch if you think there is something we could bring to life for you.
